Saint Louis University section of allergy is recruiting subjects with uncontrolled asthma symptoms for a clinical trial to find out if soy isoflavones (chemical found in soybeans) improve lung function and reduce asthma symptoms.
You may qualify for this study if:
- You are 12 years of age or older
- You have uncontrolled asthma (i.e. night time symptoms or use quick relief asthma medicine 2Xs/week or more)
- You take daily asthma controller medication
- You are a non smoker
- You do not take soy isoflavone supplements or used oral steroids in the past 6 weeks
- You are not pregnant
Subjects will be compensated for their time and travel.
There will be eight visits over a 6 month period.
