E-Waste Recycling safely recycles appliances and electronics by recovering metal, glass, and plastic for reuse while also keeping harmful toxic materials out of landfills.
Have something now that you want to get rid of?
Place a service request to have it picked up by Facilities Services.
Saint Louis University is dedicated to keeping hazardous materials from entering landfills. To do so, Facilities Services has developed a partnership with Midwest Recycling Center (MRC), a nationally certified electronics recycling hauler. A space is provided at Earhart Hall for the storage of larger recyclable items. In addition, once a year Facilities Services offers an "anything with a cord" recycling drive that is open to the entire campus community to dispose of their broken/unwanted electronics, appliances, etc. in a more environmentally friendly manner.
Accepted items include:
- Electronic office equipment (projectors, etc.)
- Gaming consoles
- Mostly all electronics and appliances, anything functional or broken with an electric cord.
* If you or your department have items to recycle, fill out a request on FAMIS.
Cartridges for Kids is a recycling program that collects the following items at certain locations across campus:
- Cell phones
- iPods/MP3 players
- Digital cameras
- Video games and consoles
- DVD movies
- GPS devices
- PDAs and tablets/eReaders/notebooks

The program is ongoing and ensures that the items are kept out of landfills. SLU receives cash returns for items to fund future sustainability efforts! For more information, visit the CFK website.
