SLU's Billiken Wireless network is available to all faculty, staff and students on campus and can be accessed by "authenticated" users. The wireless connection acts like an umbrella over most areas of the campus and provides instant access to anyone under it. Wireless is available in most areas of campus, including many outside areas.
The only necessary equipment needed to connect to the Billiken Wireless network is a laptop or desktop computer with the capability to perform 802.1x authentication on their client, a SLU Net ID and your SLU Net ID Password.
On Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, ITS will be maximizing performance on the Billiken Wireless Network by removing outdated bands from broadcasting. Beginning that day, the 802.11b band will no longer be broadcasting for the SLUNet or SLUGuest networks. If your device only supports 802.11b, you will need to purchase a 802.11a/g/n USB client adapter to connect to the Billiken Wireless network.
