Nursing is a healthcare profession focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life from birth to the end of life. Nurses take patient histories, perform assessments and diagnostic tests, administer treatment and medications, and provide patient follow-up and rehabilitation. There are many specialties in the field where nurses work independently or as part of a team to provide care. Nursing is currently one of the fastest growing careers! Offered in both the fall and spring semesters, NURS 140: Introduction to Nursing is a good overview course for this profession/major.
