Teaching: Bobbi Shatto has taught in the area of nursing since 1998. She is currently teaching in the Advanced Generalist Master's Program as well as teaching the online Advanced Pathophysiology to the nurse practitioner students. She coordinates Introduction to Nursing and the Accelerated Baccalaureate Nursing Program's Comprehensive Course.
Practice: Ms. Shatto has a broad range of experiences centered on critical care and nursing management. Her practice has been at Saint Louis University Hospital working in Level I Critical Care units. She was a staff nurse in the medical/coronary intensive care unit, assistant nurse manager in the coronary care unit, nurse manager of the neurosurgical intensive care unit and an administrator over outpatient services.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: Member of the Delta Lambda Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International; Contributing author, Fundamentals of Nursing, 5th edition, by Potter and Perry; Contributing author, "Quantifying Nursing Care in Barbiturate Induced Coma with Therapeutic Intervention Scoring System", Journal of Neuroscience Nursing 27 (1); Speaker at various conferences including presentations of Self Scheduling in the ICU setting, Ambulatory Balloon Pumping and Nurse Extenders in the ICU.
Research: Although not currently involved in research, Ms. Shatto has been involved in various research projects including the TIMI studies comparing aspirin versus heparin in post MI patients, hypothermia in severe Traumatic Brain Injury patients and therapeutic scoring systems in patients who are in barbiturate induced comas.
