Teaching: I teach in the traditional baccalaureate program. My specialty is gerontological nursing. I teach both theory and clinical experiences. I have developed clinical experiences for nursing students at the Saint Louis University Hospital Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit and at an older adult day care center.
Practice: I am certified as a clinical nurse specialist in gerontological nursing and have a post-master's certificate as a gerontological nurse practitioner.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: A special area of interest for me is End of Life nursing care issues. I have received training with the End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC). I am assisting faculty in integrating end of life issues throughout the nursing school curriculum. I also plan to collaborate with the Parish Nursing education program in developing spirituality and end of life issues for older adults.
