Post-Master's Certificate Requirements
Using the latest in computerized technology, our learning online options allow you to advance your nursing credentials by earning a post-master's certificate from the convenience of your home, office or other facility. Part-time and full-time study options are available.
Students in the online learning programs complete a 3-4 day residency at the School of Nursing. During the on-campus residency, students participate in an intensive assessment and evaluation of their knowledge of curriculum content, including diagnostic reasoning, clinical assessment skills and therapeutic communication. The residency is scheduled during the first or second week in May immediately following the Advanced Clinical Studies course.
Clinical Experiences for Online Study
Clinical sites and preceptors are essential to the successful completion of the nurse practitioner programs. To help you develop your nurse practitioner skills and interests, you will work with a clinical preceptor for each clinical course at a site in the community where you live. Because learning takes place away from the Saint Louis University campus area, our faculty assist you in selecting appropriate clinical sites and preceptors that are compatible with both your and the program's objectives.
