God Bless the World

Mighty God, Father of all,
Compassionate God, Mother of all,
bless every person I have met,
every face I have seen,
every voice I have heard,
especially those most dear;
bless every city, town, and
street that I have known,
bless every sight I have seen,
every sound I have heard,
every object I have touched.
In some mysterious way these
have all fashioned my life;
all that I am,
I have received.
Great God, bless the world.

Daily Prayer for Spiritual Perspective and Awareness of God

Thank you Lord for all with which you have blessed me, but mostly for those blessings that I do not fully recognize…Lord, increase my awareness of You in my life today.

Lord, Your gifts for me have included some things that I would never have chosen for myself…among these I have found some of my greatest blessings and spiritual growth…certainly, Your ways differ than mine.

Conversely, I have prayed for some things that, if granted, may not have been in my best spiritual interests…again, our ways have differed.

You teach me to simply pray each day for the grace to discern Your will and Your way for my life and for the faith and trust/courage to then lovingly do what You would have me do…Amen.

Thank you, Lord

Thank you Lord
for struggles and sufficient grace to meet them;
for remembering me, when I forget you;
for moments of laughter and the knowledge of sorrow;
for the body and mind in strength and weakness;
for your plan and my ignorance of it;
for frustrations and the peace that comes through prayer ;
for inspiring, loving, forgiving and nurturing;
for pushing, reminding, challenging and denying;
for your grace
for your sacrifice
for your promise of eternity.

A Reflection on the Peace of a Moment

There is a moment between inhales and

Exhales, where time hangs.

In this moment, we are

One with nature and the world is at peace.

Wipe every fear from your mind

Because the heartbeat realigns now

With the flow of the wind, and you will find

The rustle of grass has never been so striking

Sending a chill down the spine

There is a moment between inhales and

Exhales, where time will stay

Just as a child’s swing reaches the zenith:

An incredible moment of delay

Between rising and falling

Time will hang so that Heaven may

Guide, protect, and smile down.

Until one day the breaths will cease,

Forever we will be in between

The inhales and exhales; forever at peace

Without time to bind

If you breathe with all of your heart, time will hang

And if you love with all of your heart, you’ll find

A heaven in the peace of a moment.

Heaven knows it is no coincidence

That the crests and troughs of a rosary line up perfectly

With our delicately place thumbs: woven like lace,

The beads held dearly by our fingers pour out a grace

Felt in our heart of hearts, and to you I say:

Heaven knows it is no coincidence,

For these hands were created to pray.

The Deer’s Cry

I arise today
Through the strength of heaven:
Light of sun,
Radiance of moon,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of wind,
Depth of sea,
Stability of earth,
Firmness of rock…

I arise today
Through God’s strength to pilot me:
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s way to lie before me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness,
Of the Creator of Creation.
