Retention Rates
Listed below are the rates at which the five most recent cohorts of new, first-time degree-seeking undergraduate students* returned to SLU for the second consecutive year to continue their studies:

Alumni Employment and Continuing Education Rates
SLU’s Office of Career Services conducts three surveys each year (August, December, May) on the employment and continuing education of recent SLU graduates. The results are compiled into an annual report for the fiscal year. The primary research method is a survey of all such recent graduates administered by e-mail, supplemented by data gathered from faculty, via LinkedIn, and similar sources; 56 percent of alums responded to the 2021-2022 surveys.
Via this research we identify our alums’ current employment and education statuses according to one of the following categories:
- Employed
Respondents who are employed full-time or part-time. Does not include respondents who are enrolled in graduate or professional school. - In Graduate or Professional School
Respondents who are enrolled in a graduate or professional program and are not employed. - Not Employed and Seeking Employment
Respondents who are not employed and seeking employment. - Not Employed but Not Seeking Employment
Respondents who are unemployed but not seeking employment. - Participating In a Year of Volunteer Service
Respondents who are participating in a year of service program (e.g., Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Teach for America) - Serving in the Military
Respondents who are serving in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces or the military of another country.
Results for 2021-2022 Graduates
- 94 percent of alumni were either employed, enrolled in graduate or professional school, participating in a year of service, serving in the military, or not seeking employment within six months of their SLU graduation.
- $63,040 was the average salary of alumni respondents who were employed full-time.
