Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness
The department of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness is dedicated to providing a safe campus for Saint Louis University students, faculty, staff and visitors. The Department of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness (DPSEP) is staffed with well-trained and dedicated officers who patrol the campus twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Our officers are armed and licensed by the City of St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners as Private Security Officers. Licensed private security officers have the authority to arrest and to search for and seize evidence in connection with an arrest. This authority is in effect while the officer is on Saint Louis University property.
DPSEP works to enhance safety through a community-based approach that focuses on education, communication and prevention.
Be a responsible Billiken. To anonymously report an incident that occurs on campus, STOP, CALL, REPORT. Call the Department of Public Safety at 314-977-3000 or e-mail a Voluntary Confidential Report.
