This 1-credit course (MLNG202 / HR 280-02) addresses the other world you lived in, the other person you felt like, and the other rhythm you moved to while living abroad.
Class themes (i.e. kaleidoscopic identity, cultural prisms - yours and theirs, transience, leaving and arriving, human connections and chasms, cultural flows and contamination, stories of taking off) give you a framework for reliving aspects of life abroad in order to extract lasting insights from what happened to you.
The course begins in the third week of the semester, running for 9 weeks with weekly 75-minute class meetings on Tuesday afternoons from 3:45 to 5:00 pm. Syllabus available from the instructor.
