TRANSFERmations is a 6-week program designed specifically for transfer students entering during the Fall semester. The program is led by 6 former transfer students, these students will plan events, answer questions, and be a mentor to transfer students entering during the Fall semester.
Students can learn more information about the program in a variety of ways: they will receive e-mails from their assigned Transfer Mentor, they will receive the weekly TRANSFERMATIONS TIMES (a newsletter just for transfers), and/or they can come to the website to get the latest updates.

Learning Outcomes for the TRANSFERmations Program:
• Students participating in the TRANSFERmations Program will gain an understanding of the opportunities and resources available to them specifically at SLU.
• Students participating in the TRANSFERmations Program will develop a supportive peer group by connecting with new and returning transfer students through social programming.
• Students who participate in the TRANSFERmations Program will make informed decisions regarding their involvement in the SLU community.
• Students participating in the TRANSFERmations Program will learn how to lead a healthy balanced lifestyle as demonstrated by the Transfer Mentor and by attending wellness programs.
o Programs that provide support for the academic environment at SLU to ensure student success.
o Programs designed to develop the whole student (academic, social, emotional, spiritual, etc) and provide a reprieve from the academic rigor of SLU.
o Programs that allow students to develop relationships with other incoming transfer students and upper class student leaders at SLU.
• EXPLORE ST. LOUIS
o Programs that introduce students to the culture and activities of Midtown and other surrounding areas in the city of St. Louis.
o Programs that provide a "road map" to help students learn how to maneuver both within SLU's campus and the greater St. Louis area.
o Programs that allow for students to work with and for others, and that introduce students to the greater Jesuit mission.
• SLU SPIRIT
o Programs that promote school pride and that correspond with common SLU traditions for incoming students.

Fall 2013 Schedule
Fall Welcome is provided for all students who are entering their first year at Saint Louis University. The week is filled with many great events to provide students with the opportunity to learn about resources at Saint Louis University and to meet many new people and make new friends. We encourage ALL students to attend all of the events but the following events have been highlighted just for transfer students. TRANSFERmations Mentors and Oriflamme leaders will meet up before every Fall Welcome event in order to provide an opportunity for transfer students to attend all of the events together.
Transfer Student Meet and Greet
At orientation students will receive information about Fall Welcome activities, learn about opportunities and resources for transfer students, hear from past transfer students, and meet your Oriflamme and TRANSFERmations Mentors!
New Student Convocation
Convocation is an annual SLU tradition that officially welcomes students and their families to the University. Hear from the University President as you become a true member of the SLU community during this formal ceremony to celebrate that class of 2017. All incoming students and their families are encouraged to attend
Transfer Student Cookout
Come and enjoy a cookout with current and past SLU transfer students. Get a chance to talk to past transfer students informally. This will also be a time to prepare for the Sprit Competition, create signs, paint faces, and get spirited for the game!
Grand Center Street Party
Billikens After Dark invites you to join us at the biggest party of the year! Join your friends and walk over to Strauss Park located directly across from the Fox Theatre and enjoy the annual Grand Center Street Party. Have a blast dancing to live music, competing in various carnival games and competitions, and enjoying food samples from different Grand Center restaurants. Be sure to snap a photo with your Oriflamme group in the free photo booth, too!
Fall Welcome continues into the first week of classes (and beyond) to help students get better integrated into the campus community. There are events planned for every day of the week but below we have highlighted the events that we think would be most beneficial for incoming transfer students. We encourage you to attend as many of the Fall Welcome events as possible. The TRANSFERmations Mentors will meet up before every event in order to provide an opportunity for transfer students to attend events together.
Cafe Ventana Social and Trivia
Cafe Ventana located at 3919 West Pine Boulevard is a trendy French quarter-style bistro that offers great food including fresh salads, tasty soups and delectable sandwiches. The Cafe, however, is probably best known for its French style beignets and locally roasted coffee. Come join us for a fun trivia night starting at 8:00 p.m. to hang out with your transfer mentors and other transfer students as well as get to know one of the city's unique culinary experiences.
SLU BAD: Dive-In Movie - Free Willy
Join us poolside at 9:00 p.m. for the showing of Free Willy at SLURuba hosted by Billikens After Dark. This a great opportunity to hang out with fellow transfers as well as get to know other students on campus.
Week 3 is about discovering ways to serve both the campus and the greater community. It's also about finding connections with other students on campus as you begin to get integrated into the academic environment of SLU.
Service at Campus Kitchens
With service being an integral part of the Jesuit Mission of St. Louis University, SLU students actively serve in their community. Come join us for an opportunity to get involved in Campus Kitchens. This is a national organization in which student volunteers develop partnerships, plan menus, and run cooking shifts to strengthen bodies, empower minds, and build communities in the St. Louis Area. Come get involved and be men and women for others. Space is limited.
The "How's It Goin'?" Transfer Student Breakfast
Don't feel like making breakfast? Come enjoy breakfast on us and chat with your transfer mentors and other transfer students. It's a great way to connect with new transfer students heading to class, and voice any concerns you may have with your transfer mentors.
Week 4 emphasizes the larger community outside of Saint Louis University. Experience some city pride from Busch Stadium to Tower Grove!
Cardinals Pre-Game Party
Grab a slice of pizza when you meet us at the lobby of Marchetti Towers at 5:00 for a kick-off party for the ballgame at Busch Stadium. Come and relax before we head downtown for St. Louis' favorite pastime.
SLU Night at the Ballpark
Go Cards! Take a break from school and catch the Cardinals in action at Busch Stadium at 7:00 p.m. It's a great way to get to know St. Louis because you can't have St. Louis without the Cardinals!
Food Truck Rally
Join us at Tower Grove Park from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m for the monthly Food Truck Rally, a St. Louis favorite. Get to know the city better by sampling various flavors it has to offer.
Take a break from studying and enjoy company with the Transfer Mentors! There are a variety of opportunities this week to make sure that you are taking time for yourself, whether that be at a grabbing some fro-yo, strolling through Grand Center, or simply relaxing.
Flying Cow Outing and Grand Center Tour
Join us for an evening outing to explore the various attractions located in Midtown, St. Louis including the famous Fox Theater. Come satisfy your sweet tooth and enjoy some Flying Cow frozen yogurt. As always, come have a good time with your fellow transfer Billikens.
Take a break from study and come join us in the Busch Student Center for some food, drinks, and board games. Come hang out with transfer students, make new friends, and talk to your transfer mentors.
Week 6 is a celebration and a time to truly be proud of all of your success at SLU!

Come celebrate your first six weeks at SLU! Take a break from studying and join us in the Busch Student Center at 4:00 p.m. for cake, ice cream and fun board games.
