There are three tracks in the American Politics concentration. Students must choose one based on their interests and future plans.
The American Politics track provides a substantive grounding in the academic study of American politics, strong methodological skills, and options to concentrate on particular areas of interest. This track is appropriate for many purposes and is particularly recommended for students who are interested in preparing for a Ph. D. program. (click for requirements)
The Polling, Campaigns and Elections track provides a substantive grounding in American politics, with particular focus on understanding the campaign process and electoral politics This track is designed for students interested in acquiring knowledge and skills needed for work in public opinion research or political campaigns. The Public Law track is appropriate for students who are interested in law and its broader role in the American political system. Students who are contemplating law school might be particularly interested in this track. (click for requirements)
