Ignatian Silent Retreat
IGNATIAN SILENT RETREAT
Jan. 9-13, 2013 (Marianist Retreat & Conference Center)
The Ignatian Retreat offers an introduction to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. During the retreat, retreatants are invited to explore the Ignatian style of prayer, by looking inward and examining their individual experience of God through the use of imagination and scripture. Retreatants meet individually with a spiritual director to reflect, explore and consider their prayer experiences.
Open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty and staff, this retreat is particularly geared to those who have made prior retreats. Applicants must set an appointment with Fr. Pat Quinn, S.J. (firstname.lastname@example.org, 977-1525) or Carol Boerding (email@example.com, 977-8967) to be sure that the retreat is appropriate for you.
The retreat begins on Thursday at noon. Retreatants are encouraged to come early Wednesday after 5 pm to allow time to settle in and ease themselves into a more reflective frame of soul and mind. We will return to SLU midafternoon on Sunday.
Transportation is available from SLU both Thursday morning and Wednesday afternoon. Students may wish to drive themselves or carpool with one another.
Please note that this retreat begins prior to the beginning of the semester. For some, your residence hall may not yet be open. Residence Halls will be open at the end of the retreat. For more information, please contact Fr. Pat Quinn, S.J. (firstname.lastname@example.org, 977-1525) or Carol Boerding (email@example.com, 977-8967)
