Morgan Keenan, safe schools organizer with PROMO, will visit Saint Louis University School of Law at noon Thursday, April 21, in the Morrissey Hall, room 306.
PROMO is Missouri's statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality through legislative action, electoral politics, grassroots organizing, and community education.
Keenan will discuss bullying of LGBT youth, which leads to the loss of too many children and teens. Come learn more about advocacy efforts in St Louis.
Keenan is a national and statewide community organizer. After graduating from University of Memphis, he joined a two-year fellowship program through US Public Interest Research Group.
During his time in the fellowship, he helped pass a bill in the state of Ohio that restricts predatory payday loan sharks. In the last couple years, he has been working with the national organization Transportation Equity Network on workforce development and transportation access for minorities.
He is proud to serve as a volunteer adult advisor for Growing American Youth, a support group for LGBTQ youth ages 13-21 in the St. Louis Metro area, and he has organized and raised funds for special programs and events for this organization during the past two years.
