Saint Louis University dedicated the Marvin and Harlene Wool Center May 13, in honor of two people who recognize the value of the University and the Jesuit education it provides.
The naming of the building also recognizes the Wools' many years of dedication and support to the University as a trustee and DuBourg Society member.

University President Lawrence Biondi, S.J., who blessed the building, said the Marvin and Harlene Wool Center serves as a fitting and permanent tribute to the Wools' devotion to make SLU an outstanding institution of higher learning.
"Naming this building in their honor demonstrates our great admiration and appreciation for their continued service and generosity to Saint Louis University," Biondi said.
Jack Pruellage, chairman of the University's board of trustees, commended the Wools' commitment to the University.
"Together, the Wools have exhibited true teamwork, benevolent philanthropy and genuine concern for their community's academic, spiritual and cultural viability," Pruellage said.
"All of us at Saint Louis University are eternally grateful for your kindness, your compassion and your commitment to SLU."
Marvin Wool was honored by the dedication.
"Through the training I received at Saint Louis University, I owe my business success and personal life guidance," said Marvin Wool, who graduated from SLU with two degrees. "When we donate to SLU, we never expect anything like this. We give to SLU because we feel it's important."
Harlene Wool continued by saying the building dedication was "wonderful."
"We give to SLU because (Marvin) feels so strongly about it," she said.
The Marvin and Harlene Wool building, located at 3545 Lindell Ave., is home to the University's human resources, ITS and business and finance departments.
Throughout his tenure with the University, Biondi said he has been blessed to be surrounded by individuals as dedicated as the Wools.
"This event is more than just a building dedication," Biondi said. "It is a recognition of superb and substantial generosity that has touched countless lives. It is a physical and permanent tribute to a legacy of leadership and selfless service."
