Dual Master of Public Health and Doctor of Medicine (MPH/MD)
Dual Degree Prerequisites: Students must meet the admission requirements and be admitted into both degree programs according to the processes of each of the participating academic units in order to pursue a dual degree program.
MPH Prerequisites: A bachelor's or master's degree in a health or related field and substantial and relevant experience equivalent to three years in public health or health care.
MPH Requirements: The MPH requires the completion of the track-specific curriculum and the MPH core curriculum.

The minimum total credit-hours required for the MPH is 42.
Through collaboration with the SLU School of Medicine, accredited by the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME), the dual MPH/MD prepares highly motivated students who wish to acquire not only medical practice competencies but also an understanding of the history, organization, goals and philosophy of public health.
Students who graduate from this program will be professionals with a unique ability to draw from both credentials as they practice from a foundation of interdisciplinary education.
For dual degree students, the MPH is offered with a focus on either analytic epidemiology or one-year public health (professional option). This integrated program requires completion of professional medical-school requirements as well as the fulfillment of the MPH degree (42 credit-hours), which may include up to nine credit-hours of coursework from the School of Medicine MD degree requirements.
