New Faculty Orientation
We are delighted that you have chosen to join the faculty at Saint Louis University!
The next New Faculty Orientation will be held on August 20, 2013 in the Busch Student Center.
When you arrive, please check in at the tables located in the hall outside of the Wool Ballroom, Room 170. Here you will receive your name badge for the day and a welcome bag and folder.
The orientation program begins promptly at 8:35am, but there will be a Resource Fair and hot breakfast available from 7:30am until 8:30am. At the Resource Fair, you will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from various campus groups and offices poised to share information on how their departments can assist you with student, research and teaching resources, as well as technology, library resources, faculty associations and more. Breakfast will be located in Room 170, with the Resource Fair located in Room 172.
The Tech Service Center, located in Room 137 will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m during the day of the orientation. Staff from Information Technology Services will be available for walk-in appointments to assist with any questions/trouble-shooting you may have with your University access or accounts.
Parking is located across the street in the Laclede Garage, on the corner of Grand and Laclede. If you currently park in the Hickory Garage on the Medical Campus or Laclede Garage on the Frost Campus, your parking passes are accepted at this garage. If you do not have a permit for Hickory or Laclede Garage, you may still park for free in the Visitor Parking area of the garage, but you will need to obtain a parking voucher to show when you exit the garage. Parking vouchers will be available at the orientation check-in table if needed.
At 4:30pm, the President will host a reception for new faculty at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art (SLUMA). The museum is located at 3663 Lindell Blvd. Hors d'oeuvre will be served.
The week of the orientation, two optional Campus Tours exclusively for new faculty and their families will be offered. Tours will begin at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor of the Busch Student Center. Parking vouchers for the Laclede Garage are available for tour participants, and will be distributed at the end of the tour. You may sign up for the tour when you RSVP for the orientation.
