Program Goals - what makes our program unique?
We are the only nuclear medicine program in the St. Louis area. The program provides an opportunity to interact with other students majoring in medicine, nursing, physical therapy, physician assistant education, occupational therapy, health information management, nutrition and dietetics, and clinical laboratory science.
The Nuclear Medicine Technology Program utilizes expert full-time and adjunct faculty including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, radiopharmacists, physicists, nuclear medicine technologists, health care managers, computer science professionals, and other experienced professionals.
The program offers premier clinical experiences at the finest hospitals in the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. Our clinical sites include: Barnes Jewish Hospital, Saint Louis University Hospital, Mercy Hospital - St. Louis, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Luke's Hospital, Christian Hospital, John Cochran V.A. Medical Center, Memorial Hospital of Belleville, Illinois, GE Healthcare Radiopharmacy and Cardinal Health Radiopharmacy.
Our graduates benefit from the program's proven success rate. In the past three decades, 99% of our graduates have passed their certifying exam on the first attempt. The curriculum supports the entry-level responsibilities expected of a new graduate. Graduates are qualified to accept positions in hospitals, industry, sales, marketing, clinical application training, radiopharmacy, and education.
