Mildred Mattfeldt-Beman Ph.D., R.D., L.D. received the "Mary Abbott Hess" Award from the American Dietetic Association for innovations in culinary education at the Foundation Dinner during the annual American Dietetic Association Convention in 2003.
Mildred Mattfeldt-Beman Ph.D., R.D., L.D. is also a Fellow of the St. Louis Science Academy, a prestigious association of St. Louis scientists and engineers of national reputation. Academy Fellows are recipients of the Outstanding St. Louis Scientists Lifetime Achievement, Eads, Trustees', or Academy Fellows Awards
Edward "Ted" Weiss Ph.D. received the 2007-2008 "Excellence in Scholarly Endeavors" Award from the Doisy College of Health Sciences
Karen Steitz M.S., R.D., L.D. received the 2007-2008 "Missouri Dietetic Association Outstanding Dietetics Educator from a Didactic Program in Dietetics" Award.
Charlotte Ridley, M.S., R.D., L.D. received the 2007-2008 "Missouri Dietetic Association Outstanding Dietetics Educator from a Didactic Program in Dietetics" Award.
We are proud of our alumni and the impact they are making by helping people lead healthier lives. They include entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses in sports nutrition, pediatric nutrition, and private chef/dietitian services, clinical dietitians and dietetic managers working in hospital settings, educators working in universities and colleges, food service professionals working for school districts, community nutritionists working for state and federal agencies, physicians and physician assistants, researchers, and sales and marketing professionals. Our alumni continue to support the Department by serving as preceptors and guest lecturers, and providing networking and job opportunities for our students and graduates.
