Short Term Pre-Departure FormsSaint Louis University students participating in international experiences must provide the following documentation to the Office of International Services no later than 30 days prior to departure.
If you are participating in a Saint Louis University faculty-led study abroad program, please submit the following documentation to your group coordinator. Your group coordinator will then forward all group information to the Office of International Services. Upon receipt of all required documentation, the Office of International Services will then enroll students in the insurance plan. This must be received no later than 30 days prior to departure.
The Study Abroad Office recommends that you keep copies of important application and pre-departure documents for your personal records.
- Copy of Passport (identification page only)
- Student Participation Agreement
- International Insurance Application & Payment
Please note that while this international insurance plan is required for all SLU students travelling abroad, we still advise students to maintain their U.S. insurance policy. Please complete the online application and payment process through SLU Marketplace.
*Cost: $20.00 per week or $75.00 per month.
Additional information regarding the International Insurance plan may be found on the Health and Safety portion of our webpage.
- Copy of Flight Reservation
- Copy of Visa (if applicable)
Although we may assist you with the visa process, it is your responsibility to apply for and obtain a visa. SLU may list some visa information on this site that is periodically reviewed, but you must check with the consulate for updates. If applicable, you may be required to purchase a visa or drive/fly to retrieve your visa (or hire an agency on your behalf to assist with your visa). Other students may only need to mail in an application. Visa requirements vary by country and by jurisdiction, and it is the student's reasonability to apply for and obtain the visa. Please note that these are regulations imposed by the host country government not SLU.
- International Student Identification Card (ISIC) & 1 Passport Sized Photo (optional)
Passport sized photos are available for purchase in the Office of International Services, Des Peres Hall, Room 102. A set of 2 passport photos costs $8.00 and payment is accepted through SLU Marketplace.
This photo will be used for the International Student ID Card. The International Student Identification Card (ISIC) is a form of identification that is widely accepted abroad that includes various discounts and minimal insurance. We do not use the ISIC Card as a substitute for insurance. SLU students will have their SLU student account charged directly for the ISIC card. (Note: This photo is not required for the Webster Programs as they will process your ISIC Card)
