The Missouri Department of Transportation has delayed a planned closure of Interstate 64 in downtown St. Louis until the weekend of Feb. 1-4. Crews would not be able to complete necessary striping for the project due to projected precipitation in Sunday's forecast.
With the closure rescheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, the work to narrow and shift lanes on the interstate has also moved. Drivers through St. Louis can now expect shifted and narrowed lanes in both directions of I-64 starting before the morning commute Monday, Feb. 4.
The Taylor and Newstead bridges will remain closed over the interstate.
More information on upcoming work will be released when it becomes available, and will be shared on the project web page.
