The School of Law will host a roundtable discussion about the current Medicaid expansion debate in Missouri from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, in William H. Kniep Courtroom Morrissey Hall.
The legislative debate over state Medicaid expansion continues as a Missouri House Committee recently rejected a Medicaid expansion plan supported by the Democrats and called for focus on a Medicaid "transformation." This panel will feature guests on both sides of the issues facing the Missouri legislature as they work towards a decision over the expansion of coverage for the citizens of Missouri under the Affordable Care Act.
The featured panelists are:
- Margaret Donnelly, health law practitioner-in-residence for the School of Law and former director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
- Ron Levy, executive in residence at the College for Public Health and Social Justice and former director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
- Patrick Ishmael, policy analyst with the Show Me Foundation
- Moderator Thomas Greaney, co-director of the Center for Health Law Studies and Chester A. Myers Professor of Law
