Want to Help with Atlas Week?
There are multiple ways to get involved with Atlas Week. If you'd like to volunteer during Atlas Week, there are three options: be an Atlas Ambassador, volunteer at the Billiken World Festival, and/or be a flag bearer at the Parade of Nations.
Atlas Ambassadors are the official representatives of the Atlas Planning Committee at each event during Atlas Week, which will take place March 31 through April 4. To be an Atlas Ambassador you must devote your time to Atlas Week events as well as attend the Signature Symposium Keynote Address and the Billiken World Festival. You do not need to be a member of the Atlas Planning Committee to serve as an Ambassador. Atlas Ambassadors have the following responsibilities:
- Stamp passports of students attending the event
- Introduce speakers at the events to which you are assigned
- Troubleshoot technology and make sure the room is set up properly for each event
- Do a head count so we can accurately record attendance to each event
- Promote the Signature Symposium and other key events
- Attend the Signature Symposium and the Billiken World Festival
In addition to being able to attend multiple events during Atlas Week, Atlas Ambassadors are also invited to a private reception with the keynote speaker following the Keynote Address on Thursday evening. It is a great way to help expand SLU's commitment to being a globalized campus. To sign up to be an Atlas Ambassador, please click here and fill out the form.
Billiken World Festival Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to work at the Billiken World Festival on Friday, April 4th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Billiken World Festival is an annual event held in the Quad during Atlas Week. Student organizations offer delicious foods representing their respective cultures, heritages, and countries. The festival also features live cultural music and dance performances. Volunteers will help with set-up, working the festival, assisting food and non-food booths, and breakdown of the festival. To sign up to volunteer at the Billiken World Festival, please click here and fill out the form.
Parade of Nations Flag Bearers
The Parade of Nations kicks off the Billiken World Festival and features SLU students carrying flags from around the world. The Parade starts at the Clock Tower and concludes at the intersection of West Pine and Grand. The parade will begin around 11:45am and last until 12:15pm. To sign up to carry a flag in the Parade of Nations, please click here and fill out the form.
