We also support play a central role in educating and training students, faculty and staff about our Community Standards, values and expectations.
Update on Fall 2020 Hours

Reporting Allegations of Non-Complaince with COVID-19 Safeguards
Students, staff, and visitors are expected to adhere to the expectations regarding COVID-19 safeguards. More information can be found by visiting Back to SLU: Fall 2020 and COVID-19 Interim Policies .
When a student does not adhere to these guidelines, please submit an Incident Report to our office. When doing so, please include the student's name and a brief description of the incident. Identify the nature of report as "alleged community standards violation." Our office staff will investigate the allegation and will determine the appropriate outcomes, if necessary. Outcomes will be intentional and educational and may range in severity. Outcomes inluce, but are limited to, participation in an nline consultation with a public health/University official, Disciplinary Probation, Suspension, Revocation of access to University facilities, and/or Contract Release from Housing and Residence Life. Fines and fees may also be applied to a student's account.
All of the University policies that pertain to you as a student, University community standards and residence hall policies are online in the Student Handbook. It is your responsibility to review and understand the policies and expectations for your behavior as a student at Saint Louis University.
Please provide detailed information regarding the incident you are reporting involving a Saint Louis University student. For incidents involving faculty members, please contact the dean for the corresponding college. For incidents involving Saint Louis University staff members, please contact the human resource division’s automated line at 314-977-2360. Only current students, faculty or staff members of the SLU community may file a report via the incident report form. If you are not a current SLU community member, please contact the Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards at 314-977-7326 to speak with a staff member.
Reports filed through this online incident report are immediately received and viewed the next business day.

Community Standards Process
If an incident report is submitted to the Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards from housing and residence life, the department of public safety or another member of the community, it will be investigated by our office. If your name is associated with an incident, you will be scheduled to meet with a hearing officer to discuss the incident. This meeting is to discuss what happened and to gather additional information. All meetings and hearings, until further notice, will occur virtually via Zoom.
If it is determined that there was a policy violation during this meeting, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for your actions. If you take responsibility, the appropriate sanctions may be given to you. If you are found responsible, you may also receive sanctions. You will have the opportunity to appeal the outcome three days from the date of the hearing.
Appeals for non-suspendable offenses are reviewed by the Student Appeal Board. The appeal board is made up of undergraduate SLU students who will decide upon the final determination.
All first year and transfer students are required to complete two online modules, entitled AlcoholEdu. Students gain access to the module by logging in to their 'My SLU' account and selecting the 'Tools' tab, under which they will find an icon labeled 'AlcoholEdu.' Students will then select the “Add a Course” button in the right-hand top of the screen and select ‘AlcoholEdu for College’ and then select their group membership (transfer student, student athlete, intent to join fraternity or sorority life, commuter student, international student, involved in ROTC, enrolled in a learning community, or I do not identify as any of the above.’
AlcoholEdu for Sanctions
Students who are receiving an outcome to complete AlcoholEdu for Sanctions will gain access to the module by logging in to their 'My SLU' account and selecting the 'Tools' tab, under which they will find an icon labeled 'AlcoholEdu.' Students will then select the “Add a Course” button in the right-hand top of the screen and select ‘AlcoholEdu for Sanctions.’
Behavioral Concerns Committee
Housed in the dean of students’ office, the behavioral concerns committee reviews cases involving students who could pose imminent harm to themselves or others. The committee is made up of staff representatives who work with the student to develop a course of action that best suits their needs and the needs of the University community.
Get Involved in the Process
The Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards has many opportunities for students to develop their leadership and communication skills through involvement in the student appeal board or serving as a peer educator. If you want to get involved, be proactive and make a difference, there are a few ways to be part of the decisions that impact our campus through policy and justice.
Student Appeal Board
The Student Appeal Board is made up of undergraduate students who decide the final determination of disciplinary cases.
Peer educators help teach our awareness workshop, a class students receive as a sanction that focuses on skills about alcohol, drugs and bystander intervention. In this role, you will share information with other undergraduates about the importance of safe drinking habits, skills for bystander intervention and how to help out fellow Billikens in need.
An internship in our office normally lasts a semester. It's an opportunity to learn about how the conduct process works at the University.
