The mission of the SSM Health SLU Hospital Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency is to foster the formation of reflective leaders who provide compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative care in service to their community through the advanced clinical practice of neurologic physical therapy.  

Elevating Neurologic Physical Therapy Education

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is a level-1, time-critical diagnosis hospital that treats stroke, trauma aSLU's Program in Physical Therapy to advance the education of licensed physical therapists for the assessment and treatment of the patient population with neurologic disorders.

These knowledge, skills and abilities are described by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education Description of Residency Practice. This partnership engages the licensed physical therapist across the spectrum of trauma, acute care and outpatient settings. The residency curriculum involves the resident as an adult-learner in classroom learning and psychomotor instruction and as an educator within the Program in Physical Therapy.
