Saint Louis University Health Information Management Program Accepting Applicants for Prestigious Scholarship

The program in Health Information Management, housed in Saint Louis University’s Doisy College of Health Sciences, is now accepting applications for the Elmo and Jean Poole Health Information Management Scholarship. The scholarship features a one-time award for partial tuition at Saint Louis University in the amount of $5,000 and it is awarded annually.

The Elmo and Jean Poole Health Information Management Scholarship recognizes students with a commitment to education, research and leadership in the field of health information management. The recipient will be recommended by a committee made up of members from both within and outside of the Health Information Management program and, ultimately, chosen by the Chairperson of the Department of Health Sciences & Informatics.

Elmo and Jean Poole both generously remembered SLU’s program in Health Information Management in their wills and, because of that gracious act, the program will be forever indebted to the couple for their tremendous impact on the program. By giving to the program in their will, Elmo and his wife Jean established an endowment fund. The fund was created in 2003 and named in their honor. Jean Raffley Poole was a graduate of SLU in 1955 with a degree in Medical Record Science.
