Alumni Newsletter Message from the Dean: Spring 2021

With continual reflection on the challenges and opportunities for our community and university, I am grateful to navigate such times with members of our Doisy College of Health Sciences. During times of uncertainty related to COVID-19 and continued needed actions to address issues of social justice, community is of paramount importance.

Our community is strengthened through our alumni who are engaged in efforts across the health disciplines. Our alumni are engaged in impactful work imparting positive changes across our health sciences disciplines. They are leaders, advocates, and change agents whose contributions are significant and important. Thank you for your continued engagement.

Our students, faculty, staff, and clinical education partners have exhibited considerable flexibility, exceptional commitment and persistence, constant understanding, and a team approach that has permitted our continued success, despite unprecedented changes in our higher education landscape. Without such dedication and respect for each other, we would not have accomplished what we aim to achieve in both the short and long term.

As the Interim Dean for the Doisy College of Health Sciences, I am humbled to be part of the educational, research, and service pursuits for our next generation of health professionals who will put into practice Jesuit values of “women and men for and with others.” May we seek and find community in similar and different ways than we may have previously. May each of you be blessed and may we remain strongly united as One SLU. Take good care.
