EmpowerMe Wellness provides fully integrated on-site treatment services, including physical, speech, and occupational therapy in Senior Living Communities. These services are designed to improve outcomes for seniors and enrich the communities they call home.

Senior Vice President of University Relations at EmpowerMe Wellness Lisa Meyer, MBA, PT, described why partnering with DCHS is such a good fit for EmpowerMe Wellness.

“Saint Louis University is very mission-focused, just like EmpowerMe. Our relentless pursuit of opportunities to improve the lives of seniors aligns with SLU’s philosophy of changing the world for a higher purpose and the greater good,” Meyer said. “Many of the services we provide are offered as educational programs at SLU, and we want to do our part to provide some of the clinical education to these students before they embark on their career.”

Meyer, an alum of the Physical Therapy Program at SLU Doisy College of Health Sciences, recently visited the college to provide an overview of EmpowerMe during an all-college meeting. The presentation was followed by a conversation with directors of clinical education in physical, speech, and occupational therapy. During her visit to the college, Meyer discussed how the positive experience that the organization has had with SLU students made expanding the collaboration an easy decision.

“As a 1986 graduate of SLU, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for their students, so when EmpowerMe decided to create a University Relations department, I knew that Doisy College was one of the first places to reach out to,” Meyer said. “We have many SLU alumni working for EmpowerMe and they bring a holistic approach to caring for their patients. Together, we work to serve the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.”

EmpowerMe Wellness provides personalized therapy services that allows residents in Senior Living Communities to stay active, engaged, and achieve greater health and happiness.
