Participate in SLU’s First Annual Giving Day Scavenger Hunt
The race is on for students to learn about philanthropy benefiting Saint Louis University for a chance to win prizes and direct where a new gift will be spent.
SLU’s Giving Day Scavenger Hunt takes place April 1- 3, leading students to landmarks throughout campus that have benefited from donor generosity. Here’s how it works:
During the first week of April, all undergraduate students will be invited by email to participate in the scavenger hunt. Hints will be shared on the Saint Louis University Alumni and Friends (@billikenalumni) Instagram account. Participants will look for specific locations on North Campus and South Campus, scanning a QR code at each location.
The first student who finds five of the eight sites will receive a VIP experience at SLU’s 2025 SLU Atlas Week. Other students who participate in the hunt will be entered into a drawing to win a Giving Day-themed prize pack. Each student who scans a QR code will be able to vote on how a $2,000 gift to SLU will be spent, choosing between the Students Helping Students Scholarship, Billiken Bounty or the Student Mental Health and Wellness Fund.
Want to participate? Keep these hints in mind:
- This scavenger hunt is only for undergraduate Saint Louis University students
- Monitor your slu.edu email address the week of March 31
- Follow Saint Louis University Alumni and Friends on Instagram
- Stay focused: The hunt only lasts three days
- Make sure to scan the QR code, then read and submit your scavenger hunt entry at each location
- Don’t forget to choose a cause to be funded by SLU’s new $2,000 gift supporting students
Giving Day is April 10
Saint Louis University's Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising initiative that supports various causes across campus. In 2024, nearly 750 donors contributed to a record-breaking total of $615,138. This year’s event runs from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on April 10. Challenge and matching gifts amplify donors’ efforts, with opportunities for bonus funds to be allocated to certain areas.
Students, faculty and staff can get involved with Giving Day today by signing up to be an advocate, a member of the SLU community who spreads the word about the event with prospective donors. Hear about becoming a Giving Day advocate.
