Community Work and Service
Boal has 25 years of experience working in software development and health care data management and analytics. His technical expertise includes data acquisition, modeling, integration, engineering, analysis, and machine learning using a variety of programming languages including Python, SQL, Java, PERL, R, and many relational and non-relational database systems.
Boal speaks and teaches for the data professionals’ organization TDWI (Transforming Data with Intelligence), has moderated and delivered many webinars on data, healthcare, and business topics, and presented at numerous technology and healthcare industry conferences including TDWI, StampedeCon, Prepare.ai, Hadoop Summit, Teradata Universe, and AHIP. He has been an adjunct faculty member for the Department of Health Outcomes Research since 2015.
Boal is currently a member of the healthcare and life sciences team with Snowflake (the Data Cloud), and has spent his career building data and analytics solutions for healthcare. His credentials include executive practice leadership for data, analytics, and innovation with Amitech Solutions; leading data management, big data initiatives, and data governance at Mercy Health in St. Louis; and building large scale data warehousing systems at Express Scripts, United Compounding Management, and other companies as a consultant.
