Alum Lives Childhood Dream by Flying with the Blue Angels
Saint Louis University's Development Division announces that the University is the recipient of a recent bequest totaling $2.6 million. The generous gift was made by the estate of a 1949 graduate of SLU's business school, who wished to remain anonymous.
University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., has determined that the gift will benefit multiple areas at SLU: $1.6 million will fund priority Strategic Plan initiatives; $500,000 will be allocated by Provost Nancy Brickhouse, Ph.D., to fund key academic initiatives; and the remaining $500,000 will be used by the provost to boost underfunded endowments across academic units that support faculty and academic programs.
Through the generosity of alumni like this anonymous donor, Saint Louis University has the ability to build the intellectual and physical resources to support a world-class faculty, interdisciplinary research, and education with global impact.
"Through the generosity of alumni like this anonymous donor, Saint Louis University has the ability to build the intellectual and physical resources to support a world-class faculty, interdisciplinary research, and education with global impact," said Brickhouse. "This posthumous gift will benefit everyone in the SLU community and is greatly appreciated."
