Sigma Iota Rho Inducts New Members

Saint Louis University's Epsilon Lambda chapter of Sigma Iota Rho, an honor society for international studies, held its fall induction ceremony on Nov. 29, in the Center for Global Citizenship.

"This ceremony is a really nice way to recognize the outstanding achievements of the impressively diverse and talented students in the international studies program," said David Borgmeyer, Ph.D., chapter advisor and director and assistant professor in the Center for International Studies.

Sigma Iota Rho was founded in 1984 to "promote and reward scholarship and service among students and practitioners of international studies," and "to foster integrity and creative performance in the conduct of world affairs." The SLU chapter was launched by the students and faculty of the Center for International Studies in March 2013, joining more than 110 chapters worldwide.

Present for the ceremony were Borgmeyer; Sam Shreve, 2016-17 co-president; Madeleine Hellebush; Madison Streb; Aubrey Klimala; Morgan Norris; Jayde Rose; Kylie Jensen; Claire Peterson; and Rosemary Bornstein, 2016-17 co-president.

Also inducted but unable to attend the ceremony were Mary Rose Hefner, Jenna Ihlenfeldt and Erica Prasad.
