University Honors 2016 Distinguished Service Award Recipients

The accomplishments of more than 300 faculty and staff members were celebrated at the annual Distinguished Service Awards breakfast Thursday, Sept. 29. This year's group of recipients represents 4,130 years of combined service.

Honorees were congratulated for their years of service by Mickey Luna, vice president for human resources, and University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D. Mike Barber, S.J., professor of philosophy, delivered the event's invocation.

Three honorees also spoke, reflecting on their careers with the University. The faculty and staff speakers were Patrick Kerwin, lead case manager for the infectious disease area of internal medicine, who has been with the University for 15 years; Nancy Solomon, director of Medical Center communications, who has been with the University for 15 years; and Robert Wilmott, M.D., professor and chair of pediatrics, who has been with the University for 15 years.

The Distinguished Service Award is given each year to employees celebrating a service year milestone anniversary of 10, 15 and 20 years of service. Honorees also receive a recognition package during the month of their anniversary date. Learn more about SLU’s service award recognition program here.
