Heaney Permanently Named SLUCare CEO

Robert M. Heaney, M.D, assistant vice president for medical affairs, will permanently assume the role of SLUCare chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2017. 

“Dr. Heaney has provided strong leadership in the clinical practice, effectively guided the implementation of the electronic health record, and fostered numerous clinical quality improvement initiatives that provide high value to our patients. He has been a stalwart leader in the partnership with SSM Health, and he continues to seek innovative methods of growing the practice,” said Kevin Behrns, M.D., vice president for medical affairs and dean of the School of Medicine.

“We look forward to his continued leadership, knowing that his commitment to SLU and our community will lead to better health care in St. Louis and surrounding communities.”

Heaney is an active primary care practitioner, seeing patients in general internal medicine.
