Thirteen Years in the Top Spot for Health Law

In the U.S. News Best Graduate Schools rankings for 2018, the School of Law's health law program was named the best in the nation by health law scholars for the 13th year. The Center for Health Law Studies has been listed as a top program since the rankings were first published.

“We are fortunate to have a program that not only is nationally recognized for its excellence, but also fits so well with our Jesuit mission,” said William Johnson, J.D., dean of the School of Law. “Our Center for Health Law Studies is a tangible example of how we can work collaboratively to further our mission by educating the future leaders in health care. Through their scholarly work on issues such as disability rights and access to health care, my colleagues in the center are tremendous resources for their students and for the community we serve.”

Established in 1982, the Center for Health Law Studies was one of the first law school programs to focus on the intersection of the health care system and the legal system. With more than 1,250 alumni nationwide, the center routinely places graduates in the nation's leading health law firms, hospitals and health care systems, as well as on legislative staffs and in agencies that regulate the health care and pharmaceutical industries.
