Miss Missouri Jennifer Davis, Runner-Up in Miss America Pageant, Is a 2016 SLU Graduate

Miss Missouri Jennifer Davis, a 2016 Saint Louis University graduate, was crowned runner-up in the Miss America Pageant Sunday night.

Davis (A&S ’16) majored in communication during her time at SLU. She campaigned on a platform of “United We Stand, Divided We Fall — Diversity Matters.” Davis also is the author of a children’s book, Diversity Matters.

According to a  profile on Bustle, Davis began entering pageants at age 19 and didn't have much success until winning Miss Jackson and then Miss Missouri. To see her full Miss America profile, click here

Davis said in a video posted to her Facebook page that her platform was "all about starting the conversation on social injustice and intolerance that we still see relevant in our society today." Watch the full video below.


Davis appeared on KTVI-TV Ch. 2 in St. Louis shortly after being crowned Miss Missouri in June. The St. Charles native told anchor Kevin Steincross that after graduating from SLU she is pivoting to be a physician assistant specializing in pediatric oncology.
