SLU's Service Center Creates Research Partnership with School in Belize

Students from the Department of Psychology and the Department of Civil Engineering recently joined a faculty research team from SLU's Center for Service and Community Engagement for a partnership project at St. Martin de Porres Elementary School in Belize City.

The team worked with teachers and administrators to convert student records and grade reports from paper copies to a more user-friendly electronic format.

The new electronic records will facilitate the assessment and tracking efforts associated with Belize 2020's "Project Heal" and St. Martin's new school-wide literacy program.
