SLU Experts Talk COVID-19, Vaccine Research in Special Facebook Live Event

Saint Louis University hosts infectious disease experts Daniel Hoft, M.D., Ph.D., and Sarah George, M.D., to discuss the current COVID-19 treatment trial at SLU, as well as how COVID-19 vaccines and treatments are developed, on Facebook Live at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.

Hoft and George will take your questions about SLU's Center for Vaccine Development, how a new virus such as COVID-19 jumps to people and spreads to become a pandemic, and what we might expect in the future as vaccines are developed and people develop herd immunity.

Saint Louis University is currently studying an investigational treatment for COVID-19, the disease causing the current coronavirus outbreak. The trial, which is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), may be conducted in up to approximately 75 sites across the country and worldwide.

There are no treatments for the novel coronavirus, and SLU is testing what could be one of the first.
