SLUCare Prepares for Patients’ Return as Services Set to Slowly Resume

05/07/2020

SLUCare is slowly beginning to resume services after rescheduling appointments and shifting to new forms of care, such as virtual visits, in response to the COVID-19 crisis and to help mitigate the spread of the disease.

The health and safety of patients, health providers and staff remains SLUCare’s top priority. As departments assess their appointment guidelines, more patients will have the opportunity to be safely seen in person.

SLUCare has received positive feedback about its telemedicine visits and intends to continue to offer this convenient service.

In many cases, however, in-person care is required. To provide patients with the care they need, SLUCare is beginning to reschedule some in-person office visits and procedures, while taking necessary precautions for everyone’s safety.

SLUCare representatives will contact patients to reschedule elective procedures that were postponed due to the crisis. Those with questions about an upcoming visit or who want to schedule an appointment should call 314-977-4440.

When visiting a SLUCare office, patients will be asked to follow these safety guidelines:

It’s important to know that SLUCare is closely following the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and local health departments, Saint Louis University School of Medicine and our infectious disease experts.

Resumption of services will also allow SLUCare to bring temporarily furloughed staff back to work more quickly. SLUCare leadership will continue to monitor capacity and will redeploy resources where possible to minimize the length of furloughs.
