Contribute Kid-Friendly Items to Thanksgiving Food Drive
SLU’s international students will be collecting canned food items that are “kid-friendly” Nov. 14-18.
The food items will be donated for the Thanksgiving food baskets delivered to families
in the St. Louis area during the Thanksgiving holiday. During Nov. 14-18, collection
boxes for the canned food items will be located in Beracha Hall on the first and second
floors.
The following items will be collected: macaroni and cheese, popcorn, fruit snacks,
fruit (in juice or light syrup) and pudding cups, crackers, pretzels, canned soup/chili
(low sodium), beans (or dried beans), canned veggies (no salt added or low-sodium),
and canned meats (tuna/turkey/chicken (in water) are especially needed).
“As part of the SLU community, it is our task to get connected with the St. Louis
community and to find solutions that can create a difference in society to those who
are excluded due to many reasons, such as poverty and social inequality,” said Ann
Meechai, assistant professor of English as a second language. “We need your contributions
to provide a happy Thanksgiving for those in need in the St. Louis area. Your donations
and participation will be greatly appreciated! Just one small gesture – just one canned
food item – can produce a big impact.”
