Seniors, Graduate Students Invited to Apply for Book Fund Award
The Edward L. and Rhelda Marbry Morgan, Ph.D. Endowed Book Fund Award provides a book scholarship to graduate students at SLU for one academic year.
To be eligible for this award, applicants must be a SLU senior studying education
or English, or a full-time graduate student pursuing a degree in American studies,
biological sciences, communication, communication sciences and disorders, educational
studies, English, health management and policy, mathematics and math computer sciences,
physiological sciences, philosophy, psychology, public health studies or theological
studies.
Application materials should be submitted to Angie Rellergert, graduate education
coordinator, at areller2@slu.edu by Friday, Oct. 14. The application materials should include:
- A completed Morgan Book Fund application form
- A 700- to 750-word essay articulating the type of person applicant thinks Rhelda Morgan was, followed by an explanation of applicant’s commitment to her ideals and values, as indicated in her biography
- A résumé reflecting applicant’s leadership in promoting diversity and service in economically depressed areas
