Grand Hall Topping Out Planned for Sept. 28

A topping-out ceremony for Grand Hall will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the construction site.

From 3:30 to 4 p.m. attendees can enjoy light refreshments and sign a steel beam. At 4 p.m., signing will end and a brief program will begin. Immediately following the program, the beam bearing the SLU community’s signatures will be raised to its final location at the north end of the building.

The topping out of Grand Hall is its last construction milestone before the building will open for freshmen and sophomores in fall 2017.

The event will be held on the West Pine Mall between DuBourg Hall and the construction site.
