Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Workshop Draws National Prominence to SLU

In partnership with the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, SLUCare physician Alexander Lin, M.D., the Wolff Endowed Chair in Craniofacial, Maxillofacial, and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, served as the course director for a surgical workshop on advanced craniomaxillofacial surgery techniques April 7 to 9 at SLU.

The three-day cadaver course was sold out and welcomed world-renowned plastic surgery faculty from San Francisco and New England as well as teaching participants who traveled to SLU from across the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Germany.

“The Practical Anatomy and Surgical Education (PASE) facility at SLU is a world-class resource in continuing medical education,” Lin said. “The courses we host here bring national and international prominence to our medical school and physician practice”.

The American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS) is a sister society to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). The course hosted by Lin, Division of Plastic Surgery, was the first one that the ASMS has ever offered in St. Louis. This advanced surgery course taught both advanced aesthetic surgery and advanced reconstructive surgery of the face.
