Information Security Awareness Training for Employees
During April, SLU will continue the Information Security Awareness Training program. The objective of this training is to reduce risk to the University by educating the community on how to protect the University's data, network and other IT resources.
On April 13, employees found a new Security Awareness Training compliance requirement
listed on the Home tab in mySLU. There is a link that directs you to a five-to-seven
minute module in SkillSoft about basic security awareness topics such as incident
response, data classification, threat awareness, and good password practices. The
module has a pre-test that allows users to test out of the training. Users will need
to complete the training by July 16, 2017. After July 16, users will be required
to complete the training before proceeding in MySLU.
The IT Security and Compliance team appreciates your cooperation in our effort to
improve the overall security posture of the University. Additional information and
answers to some commonly asked questions about the training are available on the IT
Security Training page, under Information Security.
