SLUCare Joins Initiative to Transform Care

In 2016, SLUCare joined the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI), a project of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The primary goal of TCPI is to help primary and specialty providers in ambulatory and non-hospital settings transform their practices to deliver better health outcomes at lower costs.

TCPI funded for four years by CMS, providing SLUCare with funds for additional staffing.

SLUCare is partnered with Vizient, a CMS-certified practice transformation network, who will provide best practices, quality improvement expertise, coaching and facilitate collaboration with other TCPI participants including Emory University, University of Florida, Moffitt Cancer Center and Yale University.

Beth Page, director of quality and process improvement, is directing the TCPI initiative for SLUCare. William Manard, M.D., SLUCare CMIO, will be acting as physician champion.
