Volunteers Needed for Trash to Treasure
This year’s Trash to Treasure is looking for help. This annual move-out donation drive will occur May 11-16 with collection locations available outside of Marchetti, Reinert, Griesedieck, Fusz, Spring and The Village Apartments.
Volunteers are needed to assist with sorting donations, loading donations into trucks and directing students where to place their items. There are many shifts available for staff, faculty and students to get involved. Shifts are two hours each, three times per day each day and run 9-11 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
To volunteer, sign up on this form.
Students are encouraged to donate unwanted clothing, furniture, electronics, cleaning supplies and unopened food items to the Trash to Treasure donation drive as they are moving out of their SLU residence halls. Last year, the SLU community donated over 10,000 lbs. of reusable goods to several St. Louis area nonprofits. Thanks to these donations, SLU is able to limit its pollution, provide resources to those in need, decrease landfill waste and to save thousands of dollars in waste disposal costs each year.
