Student Mail Services to Offer Limited Services Today
Student Mail Services’ current retail software system will be replaced with a new system provided by the U.S. Postal Service beginning Monday, Feb. 13. The system replacement is required for all contracted postal units.
The new system will provide faster data processing and increased functionality such as recalling customer visits and adding special services to prepaid mail.
The replacement is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Monday and is estimated to take six hours. Student Mail Services will be open during the upgrade, however, services will be limited to package pickup and related customer inquiries.
The unit will resume full services, including postage stamp sales and outbound shipping, Tuesday, Feb. 14.
