Registration Open for 2017 SLU Summer Geriatric Institute
"Teamwork: Caring for the Person, Family and Professional" is presented by the Division of Geriatric Medicine and the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
The Institute will be held Monday, June 5 and Tuesday, June 6, at the Margaret Doisy Learning Resource Center. Registration for this CME event is free for all SLU employees and students.
Objectives:
The participant will be able to:
- Describe the current practice of geriatric care in the community setting in assessment and intervention;
- Describe, through the plenary presentations, current research into assessment and intervention strategies in such areas as: dementia, depression, communication, workforce development, nutrition, hip fractures, and caregiver well-being;
- Describe, through more in-depth workshop sessions, appropriate prevention, assessment, and intervention strategies in such areas as: cognitive stimulation therapy, palliative and end-of-life care, exercise, geriatric syndromes, polypharmacy, cancer, caregiver support, and home-based care.
