Volunteers Needed for Parental Stress and Autism Study
The Department of Applied Behavior Analysis study will explore how parental involvement impacts treatment adherence and success.
Study participants must be 18 years of age or older and the parent or guardian of
a child diagnosed with autism.
The duration of the study will last approximately three to five hours, and will require
two sessions — one initial session that may last two to three hours and one follow-up
sessions that may last one-and-a-half to two hours.
The study will involve interviews of the parent or guardian, functional analysis and
an individualized behavior intervention plan.
The possible benefits include learning more about why a child engages in challenging
behaviors, and how to respond to these behaviors. Not all participants may benefit
from the study.
Participants will be compensated for their time in the amount of $50.
